Talia Kirsh is a conceptual photo and video artist studying at Tisch School of the Arts in New York City. She works primarily in documentary photography and portraiture, while also investigating the mediums of collage, video art and performance to apply these mediums to art therapy. By incorporating Buddhist philosophy, meditation, free association among other practices in her creative process, Kirsh develops an atmosphere in which her subjects have the freedom to determine the quality of their own cathartic expression. The work serves as both a healing experience for her subjects as well as a tangible representation of the emotional change they undergo. The final depiction acts simultaneously as a static work of art and a perpetually evolving art event.
